Construction Estimator

SUMMARY

The Prime Company is a vertically integrated real estate development firm based in Manhattan, Kansas with a need to add an Estimator to its staff of construction professionals. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who will be working with project managers, field superintendents, vendors and subcontractors. Duties will include examination of construction documents for quantity surveying, obtaining subcontractor and supplier quotations, and preparation of cost estimates for our projects. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate list of bidding subcontractors for various project scopes of work

• Distribute RFP’s to bidding subcontractors

• Stay in communication with bidding subcontractors through bidding process  

• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic math proficiency — addition, subtraction, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in all units of measure.

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• The ideal candidate will have a background in construction and/or a degree in Construction Science or related field.

The Construction Estimator Position is a Full-time Salaried position that will work out of The Prime Companies Headquarters in Manhattan KS.
